I have a customer that has 3 location and a home office.
The stores and the home office have all one extra user then computers.
Today when I was setting up the home office which have a two user ADS 9.1 I
had a problem opening our application when I found that the incomming
replication from the three stores sometimes would use both users.

Is there anyway to restrict the replication from using more than one user?

Kim

Hello Kim,
Currently there is no way to prevent that from happening. It is working
in the way that we designed replication. You could implement a sort of replication
scheduling using the PAUSE property of the subscriptions so that the replication
takes place at a time of your choosing (like when the person in the home
office is not working). Really, the best solution would be to purchase enough
user licenses to support your replication setup.

Hello Peter,

I'm a little confused, I was told that I need one extra user license for the
replication at each end.

You are telling me at the destination I need one user license for every
location that replicates to the destinantion.

I other ways, if three location replicates to one location then that
location need three user license just for the replication.

Kim Jensen

Hello Kim,
Sorry for the confusion, but that is correct. A replication source is simply
a normal user in the eyes of the replication target so each one will consume
one user license.
