I am running Powerbuilder V9.0.3 Build 8565 against a MS SQL 2005 database.
I have a process which will insert into a 250 varchar field on a table. I
would like to display the field in a report with specific formatting. The
formatting would consist of the following:

First 29 characters then carriage return line feed
4 spaces Next 25 characters then carriage return line feed
4 spaces Next 25 characters then carriage return line feed
etc

The process that will generate this data will take into consideration all
necessary word wrapping. The issue I am having is trying to display the
data. If I add ~r~n to the embed the carriage return and line feed the data
display as follows:

Happy Birthday ~r~n RockyRacoonBullwinkle

I tried to store the data using the following combination of carriage
returns and line feeds

~~r~~n
~~~r~~~n
No matter how I store the data, the formatting remains the same.
I can not generated a computed field within the datawindow because I do not
know how many carriage return and line feeds will be contained within the
field.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
use like a compute field
Select
left("field",1,29)+char(13)+char(10)+space(4)+substr("field",30,25))+char(13)+char(10)+space(4)
+substr("field",55,25))+char(13)+char(10)+space(4)
from "youtable"
in your DW can use the autosizeheght and uncheck automatic vert scroll
