Hi,
I am trying to programmatically create a session channel
with a worklist. From the API Doc, it mentions the work
object event in the API, but it didn't tell how to
manipulate the worklist object and I couldn't even find this
object. Is it possible to do this? if so, could you provide
a sample please? thanks.

Qi Yong,
We don't currently provide an API on the Afaria Server for direct
manipulation/creation of Session Manager Channel worklists.

Thanks,
Christopher

Qi Yong,
It is possible to use Afaria User Defined Variables to substitute values
for path, version, etc. You can use the SET VARIABLE worklist event to set
value.

Acceptable Values for a User Defined Variable
Literal text
Session Variables (multiple Session Variables can be concatenated
A combination of literal text and Session Variables
The contents of an external ASCII file by using the "@" symbol as the
first character + the full path to the external file.

Other options include using configuration files (.INI) or the registry to
store and read values from. There are worklist events available to
read/change both INI Files and the Windows Registry.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
I meant can I do this in my .NET application? ie. via the
Afaria API, not the session manager channel.

Qi Yong,
We don't currently provide any API on the Afaria Server for direct
manipulation/creation of ANY Channels OR worklists.

Using User Defined variables is you only option for dynamic manipulation of
values such as path and version, etc. The values for those variables can
be retrieved in the methods I have already mentioned. (indirect file
reference using @c:\myvarfile.txt syntax for value, from an INI file using
INI related events, or from the registry using Registry related events.)
You can have Session Manager Channels execute before and after a Software
Manager Channel.

Thanks,
Christopher
