Hi all,

There are two directories when installing SQL Anywhere 11 with regards to
Ultralite:
- SQL Anywhere 11\Ultralite\CE\Arm.50
- SQL Anywhere 11\UltraliteForMBusinessAnywhere\CE\Arm

We use Ultralite in conjunction with the M-Biz Anywhere client.

We also use encryption as well.

As I understand the documentation, everything is in different libraries and
you need to make sure that certain dlls are on the client if you wish to use
that functionality, e.g. ulfips11.dll if you want to use fips encryption.

Questions:
1) Some of these files don't exist, such as ulfips11.dll. Is this because
it needs a license key before the file is installed?
2) If we used the standard RSA encryption that is free, do we grab the
ulpod11.dll and ulpodclient11.dll from the UltraliteForMBiz dir and
everything else from the Ultralite directory?

What is the procedure for getting the right files down to the handheld?

Cheers,

Shao

Strong encryption is a separately licensed component. See SQL Anywhere
Server - Database Administration » Security » Keeping your data secure »
Encrypting a database » Strong encryption

You need either ulpod11.dll or ulpodclient11.dll, depending on whether
you are using the UL engine.

You do not need all the files in Ultralite\CE\Arm.50. For transport
layer security deployment files, see
UltraLite - Database Management and Reference » Using UltraLite
Databases » Deploying UltraLite to devices » Deploying UltraLite with
TLS-enabled encryption » Developing and deploying UltraLite with
TLS-enabled synchronization

Hi Chris,

Thanks for that.

It wasn't clear to me as to whether there would be multiple versions of
libraries depending on whether you are developing using M-Biz, .NET, etc.

I did not want to grab files from the main Ultralite directory if I was only
supposed to grab them from the UltraliteForMBiz library.

Cheers,

Shao
