A column in a datawindow, which updates a table, does not
allow more than 13 characters to be entered into it. The
column in the table is varchar, width 125. However, in the
datawindow I can only enter up to 13 characters. I've
widened the column on the datawindow but it doesn't help.
To allow me to enter more than 13 characters, I turn on Auto
Horizontal Scroll for that column. When I enter more than 13
characters, anything I typed up to that point starts to move
to the left, so that I can't see the beginning of the text
that I typed. Very peculiar. Then when I tab to another
column, all the text appears.

Do all the characters you enter get updated? If not, check the column
definition.
Also check the Limit property on edit.

Yes, when I have Auto Horizontal Scroll on, I can still
type. Everything just starts moving to the left. The
cursor is stationary while I type each new character. I've
changed the limit property on Edit from 125, to 200 and then
to zero. Nothing seems to work. It's like there is a wall
right after the 13 character.

Thanks,
Chesny

The solution was to expand the height of the column. I have
no idea why the height of the column in the datawindow
should affect the number of characters allowed, but it does.
To think I just wasted a couple of grey hairs over this,
geesh.
