Hello,

does anybody have experience with the platform test for
Microsofts ISV Software Solutions Competency with
powerbuilder applications?

Does anybody has successfully tested his PB Application with
the application verifier from Microsoft?

We have downloaded the Application verifier and the
debugging tools for windows to test.

If you have an experience with it, what do we have to do, to
test successfully with PB-Applications? What settings must
be done in the application verifier?

Thanks and Regards,

Ralf

Ralf,

I assume you are talking about Certifying your application to be compatible
with particular Microsoft OS's?

I went to the session that Key Jenkins and Jeff Fetzer did at TechWave back
in 2007. They work for a company named AssetPoint. They went through the
whole certification process. The good news was that they were able to
certify their application. However, it took quite some time because they
had to keep going back and forth with Sybase to get them to fix some areas
in PowerBuilder. My bet is that since the PB areas are fixed now, that it
may not take as long.

Check out the following link...

http://pbdj.sys-con.com/read/407277.htm

It talks about the process they went through.

On a side note, there was a PowerPoint presentation that they had from the
conference. I think I downloaded it somewhere, but I haven't been able to
track it down yet. If I find it I'll upload it to the newsgroup here so you
can check that out to.

HTH.
