How do I setup the CVS repository in Workspace to interact
with Starteam? I just downloaded Workspace and am trying to
use my source control tool (Starteam) with it.

Since I am unfamiliar with all of the terms related to
source
control, I am not sure if CVS is a generic term or a branded
name. I see a dropdown for connection type on the add
repository window but am unfamiliar with the what the
available
options mean, such as "pserver", "extssh", "pserverssh2",
etc.
I tried reading the help could not make any sense of it.

My main purpose of using Workspace is to debug ASE stored
procedures and do version control on them. I know nothing
about
Eclipse or how to use plugins or where to get plugins from.
So,
if the answer involves a working knowledge of plugins or of
Eclipse, I need details on exactly how to do it.

Thanks.

CVS is a separate provider (open source, free, and widely used, but
impossible to understand, with little or no support) Integration with
Eclipse is pre-installed, so that's why it shows up as a valid SCC provider.

You'll need to install the Borland StarTeam/Eclipse integration module for
Eclipse to recognize ST as a valid SCC provider.

Thanks, I am now able to access Starteam through Workspace.

I have a problem though. I open the Starteam perspective and
the Database perspective. I mark the stored procedure as
locked
from Starteam perspective. I don't see a way to checkout the
file. I make a change to the stored precedure and save the
change. The updated stored procedure is saved to the
database.
I go back and unlock the file which includes the changes I
made
in the database perspective and yet my changes are not saved
back to the Starteam repository. Again, I see no way to
check
in the file. What am I missing? I think I need to make some
kind
of link between the Database and Starteam but cannot see how
to
do it. Also, when I open the file from the Starteam
perspective,
the file attempts to open in my previous tool for debugging
stored procedures (CAST SQL Builder) but gives an error.

Again, my goal is to use the debugging feature in the Sybase
Workspace database perspective instead of CAST SQL Builder.

Thanks.
