Hi all,
I am having a strange problem that I can't fix for the life
of me and it has been very frustrated for both my client and
myself. Our PB 10 and 11 apps can save PDF files using
ghostscript (7.05 and 8.51 for PB10 and 8.64 for PB 11) on
all Windows XP machines except those with dual monitors. On
the machines with dual monitors, I can't test print while on
those with a single monitor, when I test print, I get the
file name dialog box. All machines are running the exact
same PB apps and all have XP SP3.

Could anyone help me out? Thanks.

Ben

That's weird. We run XP-SP2 and I've never run into an issue with users
saving as PDF on dual monitor systems (which is basically the majority of
our user base). We use 10.5 with GS 8.51.
Does it make a difference whether the PB app runs on the primary or
secondary monitor?

Thank you Terry. I assume that I have only tested it on the
primary monitor because when I was at the client machine, I
did not know which one is the primary and I assume that the
one on the left is the primary. We only have this problem on
those computers with dual monitors.
Thanks again,

Ben

Is there something else common to those machines with 2 monitors?

You might want to check the versions of dll's, the types of device
drivers or something.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have checked the DLLs on those
machines and they are the same. I am not sure about those
device drivers. But I don't know why they would cause
problems. On those machines, I can test print a page.

You might give a look at http://www.catsoft.ch/catsoftpdf. This tool allows
you to print DataWindows without the usage of a printer driver.

Thanks Arthur. That looks like a good option.
