I am having some JS error when I retrieve a particular
datawindow.

The error is:

'objwdw' is undefined.

this error does not appear in other datawindow objects.

i have already set the following to false in my web
datawindow control:
1. ClientEvents
2. ClientFormatting
3. ClientScriptable
4. ClientValidation

In my datawindow object, I made sure to uncheck the
following in the Web Generation property tab:
1. Generate Javascript
2. Client Events
3. Client Validation
4. Client Formatting
5. Client Scriptable

I am already facing a blank wall why this error appears only
for this particular datawindow object.

Is there a way to specifically tell the web datawindow
control not to generate / interact with the javascript it is
generating?

By the way, when I viewed the source of the web page, I am
stumped because as you can see in the codes below:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_submit()
{
var theform;
theform = datawindow_getform();
__doPostBack('ctl00$WebContent$wdwRep',this.action);
if(theform != null && theform.__EVENTTARGET + "" !=
"undefined")
{
if(theform.__EVENTTARGET.value == '')
return false;
}
return true;
}
function ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_onsubmit(bAcceptText)
{
var theform;
var temp;
if(bAcceptText && objwdwRep.AcceptText + "" != "undefined")
{
if(objwdwRep.AcceptText() != 1)
return false;
}
theform = datawindow_getform();
temp =
datawindow_getscrollbarinfo("ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_div");
if(objwdwRep.indicatorRow != -1)
temp = temp + "(indicatorrow " +
objwdwRep.indicatorRow.toString() + ")";
theform.ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_context.value =
objwdwRep.GetFullContext();
theform.ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_client.value = temp;
if(bAcceptText && objwdwRep.unhookElementsEvent + "" !=
"undefined")
objwdwRep.unhookElementsEvent();
return true;
}
objwdwRep.submit = ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_submit;
objwdwRep.bDwDotNet = true;
objwdwRep.dwControlId = "ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_div";
objwdwRep.dataForm = datawindow_getform();
objwdwRep.contextField =
objwdwRep.dataForm.ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_context;
objwdwRep.autoEventBind = false;
-->
</script>

the whole javascript is actually commented out but I am
still having error on this line:

objwdwRep.submit = ctl00_WebContent_wdwRep_submit;

Can someone share their ideas?

Hi Angelo,
It is hard to tell you where the error comes from because of insufficient
information.
It is possible that a bug exists in your code in the server side.
As far as the error message is concerned, web datawindow tries to read the
datawindow name of wdw (not wdwRep).
Search the name of wdw in your code and see if there is any inproper usage
or setting.

Regards,

Takashi

That is actually the thing. There are instances of DW.Net
where you cannot pinpoint where the error is coming from. =(

Anyway, I am sure that it is not a server side thing since I
recreated the problem using just this particular datawindow
and supplying the necessary argument and the js error is
still there.

I mistyped the objwdw there. The actual name was objwdwrep.
I was simply referring to the generated client name of the
other datawindow I got for another page.
