Hello!

(I wrote this entry already in the German forum but so far there is no
answer. Therefore, I try it here)

I get the following message in an "INSERT INTO TABLE"-Statement :
... com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybBatchUpdateException: JZ0BE:
BatchUpdateException: Fehler beim Ausführen einer Batch-Anweisung: ASA
Fehler -131: Syntaxfehler bei ...

Occurred with ASA 9.0.2
I don't think that this is asimple syntax error because all other records
except this one are imported and the data in the char-field looks fine.
Presumably it has something with the data or the length to do so.

Specificity of the record:
One field (char) of the dataset is 343 characters wide.
The complete insert-statement is 1036 characters long.

Has someone an explanation / idea?

Greets
Ingmar

Ingmar,

I do not know the answer to your specific question. You might want to
consider starting the ASA server with the -z option and see what the
insert statement looks like when the server receives it. The question I
have is "why are you using jConnect?" Batch inserts using jConnect when
connected to ASA really have no benefit. It would be much better in
terms of performance if you could switch to using the iAnywhere JDBC
driver instead.
