Can I directly backup a sybase DB to a 3rd party storage
like Tivoli Storage Manager ? How do I configure it ?

We dumped to disk then scheduled a disk dump.

That will depend on the 3rd party resource. Some provide
a backupserver API module. In some cases you might use
the QUIESCE DATABASE and copy device files technique. If
it acts just like any other file system or raw paritition(s),
just issue the dump command using the appropriate path name.
