Using this simple function I am experiencing a "Connectio timed out" error
with some URLs.

create function DBA.SF_get_url(in pcURL varchar(2048))
returns long varchar url '!pcURL' type 'HTTP:GET'

How can I set an higher timeout?

Thanks,
Robin

Use the remote_idle_timeout database option. See:

SQL Anywhere Server - Database Administration » Configuring your
database » Database options » Introduction to database options »
Alphabetical list of options » remote_idle_timeout option [database]
