You should be able to find a lot of information on WPF. It's essentially
a UI framework. The UI is rendered using something called XAML. It
allows a developer to create super rich user interfaces.

You can use a scaled down version of WPF for the web. This is called
Silverlight (see www.silverlight.net). It can work with an ASP.Net
application but it can also be used to create stand alone applications.

You can use WPF with Winforms but I think it's a pain. Normally you
would just create a WPF application.

Just to clarify, XBAP is a different technology and is different than
Silverlight.

To understand the differences, you will need to dig deeper. One sentence
answeres do not do justice to the question.

WinForms and PB uses Win32 api calls for display
WPF uses Direct-X calls

PB uses x,y locations for object placement
WinForms uses relationships to other form items (providing a simple way for
re-sizing)
WPF uses special "panels" that handle object placement, allowing advanced
re-sizing

Programming wise all thress have screen layout routines in the IDE, however,
they are very different from each other. WPF is still new and the IDE still
requires developer to change the XAML rather than doing everything from the
IDE. Many of the standard controls from WinForms (and PB) are missing with
WPF and will require third party (or user developed) controls.

I would suggest that you obtain Visual Studion 2008, a book on WinForms and
WPF. You can then learn enough about each approach to know what questions
that you need to answer. PB 12 will support WPF for windows and
datawindows. I expect that PB 12 (and beyond) will accomplish the same
sorts of things that previous PB versions did for Windows development.
