Basically the LiveSync is working, too but it synchronizes
my palm device very irregular. Sometimes it takes about 10
minutes before I receive Mails. Sometimes the process takes
more than 30 minutes.
The exchange adapter and listener tests are working fine for
my user. Also I set the polling interval to 1 minute in the
schedules. It seems this setting are not deployed to the
mobile (PalmOS) reliably.
The same problem exists for our main mobiles (Nokia E71 with

I think it may be best to run through a few troubleshooting steps. The main
thing we are looking for is if items are being sent down when the server
side detects a change, if the change is detected at all, and if the server
is able to maintain a connection to the server constantly.
Any one of these items could cause the types of problems you are seeing. If
changes are never detected on the server, then they will only get sent to
the device when the device side is changed or a manual sync is performed.
If the device isn't connected to the server, then it isn't able to receive
the change until it reconnects.
1. Manually synchronize the device with the profile that is setup to be used
by Live Connect. By default there are two Live Connect profiles, Desktop and
Wireless. Make sure that you are using one of these profiles so that the
profile that Live Connect is trying to use will work correctly.
2. Once you've synchronized the device manually, create a test email and
send it to the account that you are synchronizing.
3. Now go into the OneBridge Sync Log Viewer, underneath Applications, Live
Connect, and then find the user (if more than one user matches your login,
please verify that the device ID matches the handheld that you are using).
4. Double-Click on that user to open the Live Connect Information screen.
Here, make sure that the device appears as Online, Reachable, Admin Enabled,
and User Enabled. If it does not, then try another manual connection and
check the logs again.
5. Check the Pending Notification area for new items, updates, or deletes
within two minutes of making a change on the server. If no updates are
found, the account running the OneBridge service may not have correct
Microsoft Exchange specific: Check the documentation to ensure the account
has the proper rights. Additionally, ensure that no permissions are denied
to any of the groups the Exchange Administrator is assigned to. An easy way
to ensure permissions are correct is to create a brand new account that does
not belong to any groups and then give it Exchange Administrative rights.
Lotus Domino specific: Ensure that the ID file(s) being used by the
OneBridge Server is listed as a Manager for the mail file of the user's
Access Control List.
I would specifically pay attention to the Log Viewer section after an email
has been sent. If no pending items show up then it would appear to be a
problem with the Listener reading new, modified, or delete items from your
groupware server. If pending items are available, but never go away, then
that points more to device connectivity problems. It also is very important
to check the status of the user and device under the logs. Online and
Reachable must both be True for a device to receive a push from the server.
Thanks Steffen, please let us know if you have any questions or problems
with this process.
