Currently you can check for the existence of a condition in the database
using exists. How about if you want to check for the existence of 2 cases?
You have to count all the cases or use a cursor.

Can Sybase add to the functionality of the existence check so that one
could say:

IF EXISTS(X) (SELECT 1
FROM TABLE
WHERE COL_A = "something")
BEGIN
DO_SOMETHING
END
go

Where X is used as an interal counter to determine if the existence check
has been met and if it has to immediately pass true.

Thanks,
