Hi guys:

I've just found a site named Rent-A-Coder (www.rentacoder.com) that is
looking for developers. One item that called my attention is the request for
a "Total Campus Management System" that bids less than $150 K and I quote
the tip:

Total Campus Management Modules:
1) Student Management system
2) Human Resource
3) Scheduling
4) Financial Management System
5) Hostel Management System
6) Library Management System

Please propose/quote any additional modules with significant relevance to
the TCMS above.
Please note that we are only interested in completed and tested
applications!

Maybe one of us can convince the guy Sybase is the way to go and rather than
buy a turn-key system, is better to design one!

César

So are you proposing to design, build, and test all the modules they want
for less than $150K?
Good luck!
S.

Not exactly... I've been developing apps with PB for many years and the code
is supposed to be reusable, so it might be cheaper to adapt instead of
design...

Perhaps we need to get some context in a world-wide economy: wages depend
where the client is located and a good salary for a PB programmer in Mexico,
for example, is in the range of $1.5-$2.5 per month. Actually, this is the
reason we are contracted by project instead for full-time contracts (and I
like that).

Let me give you an example. I developed an apparel app for a brand denim
company and sold the same three times: the original client, a T-Shirt
company and a lingerie factory. Even when I had to change the look and feel
of the app, those changes were mostly cosmetic: the guts of the
point-of-sale systems were the same.

Anyway, what I was suggesting was that maybe someone has a module as I have
the financial management one.
