Hi folks,

I have to implement a solution for data im- and export via DW.Saveas()
technology, PB 11.5. Some of the schema Tables (Ora 11) have BLOB
columns which can't be used with this technology. Should I write my own
export/import stuff? I'd like to use the DW's XML features, but I'm
afraid, I can't.
Thanks in advance
Thorsten

Typically BLOBS have to be handled separately from the rest of the data. For
interactions with the database see the BLOB functions (UPDATEBLOB,
SELECTBLOB). If the import/export functions aren't handling your BLOBs then
you may need to write your own add-ons. For example, if you use the DW XML
features to generate and consume XML, but they won't handle BLOBs then use
those to handle all the other columns and write separate code for your
BLOBs. If you generate an XML string for a DW and you want the BLOB to be in
it you may need to write a parser that inserts your BLOB XML syntax into the
appropriate locations of your DW XML string.

Regards,
John

Thanks, John!
That's exactly what I'm doing now...
