Group on a computed field. You can change the expression
<DW Control Name>.Modify("<ComputedFieldname>.Expression='<expression>'")
Then SetSort to the same expression, Sort(), and GroupCalc

Did you mean highest 20 in the result set or in each group?

Create a computed field. Group on that computed field. You can modify the
expression
DW ControlName.Modify("<ComputedFieldname>.Expression='<expression>'")
to the column the user selected, then sort on the same column, then
GroupCalc().

To take the top 20, sort descending on the amount or qty, filter getrow() <
21, then sort on grouping column ascending and GroupCalc()
