Hi all,

I am currently having problems installing M-Business Anywhere 7.0 on one of
our servers and can't fathom out what is the problem.

I have just downloaded it from the Product Download Centre and match the MD5
code.

I have enclosed a screenshot of the error message in the M-Biz admin tool.

This machine used to run M-Biz 6.7 Server. I also have the latest Apache
Tomcat 5.5.26 Server installed separately and Java J2SE JDK1.6.0_13
installed.

After installing M-Biz 7.0 it asks for a reboot. After rebooting the
machine, the AGDB service works as do the Soap and Sync services. But the
Admin service does not automatically start.

If you start it manually, it will start but when accessing the web page, you
get the enclosed error message.

The Event Viewer shows error message:
- The M-Business Admin Server service terminated unexpectedly. It has done
this 2 time(s).

I have also enclosed the logs from the log directory.

I have tried reinstalling this several times now (the first being an upgrade
from M-Biz 6.7 and the rest installs after complete uninstalls).

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Shao

Hi all,

Additional info:

1) I've installed v7.0 successfully in the past on another machine although
I downloaded that a while ago (the machine sits in our DMZ so downloads to
that machine are independent of anything else).

2) I've uninstalled 7.0 on this machine, rebooted, installed 6.7, rebooted
and everything is fine. I can access the admin console. I then uninstall
6.7, reboot, install 7.0, reboot, and my original problem is back.

I think I'll have to raise a support call on this.

Cheers,

Shao

Shao,

It claims that it's having trouble including /about.jsp - after you
install 7.0, does the file M-Business\tomcat\webapps\admin\about.jsp
exist? What's the MD5 hash of that file?

Mine is: 7dddc7bf7fcac128773b763e0297eb65

If you can't get it going, yes, I'd strongly recommend opening a support
case so we can continue debugging.

Cheers,

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the reply.

This is the MD5 from about.jsp:
7DDDC7BF7FCAC128773B763E0297EB65

I think its the same as yours.

I have also enclosed the download signature MD5 and the value in the Sybase
Product Download centre.

I have tried on one of our servers and on my client machine.

Both have the same problem. However, M-Biz 6.7 works fine.

Cheers,

Shao

Hello Shao,

The problem might be a conflict between the ports of the Tomcat server
you have installed and the MBA server (which also uses Tomcat).

My suggestions would be to disable the Tomcat service, and then start
the MBA Admin Service and then browse to http://localhost:8091

If that works, then you need to change the ports of your standalone
Tomcat, or move it to another machine.

Ports can be updated in the file (on windows)
\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.14\conf
You may need to change all three default ports from 8005, 8080 and 8009.

Hi Dave,

You're absolutely right! :)

If I stop my TomCat server, and restart the M-Biz admin server, it works
fine.

I assume that in M-Biz 6.7 the ports are already changed so that conflict is
not an issue?

Cheers,

Shao
