Hallo.

I use the 3-D-Look property of a checkbox to show the enduser if a checkbox
is enabled or disabled.
You know with modify and checkbox.threed=no or checkbox.threed=yes.

Now is doesn't work.

To reproduce this you can open a new external datawindow, add 2 checkboxes,
one with 3-D-Look property and one with 3-D-Look property off. You can see
it works, but I you save the datawindow and look in the WindowPainter all
checkboxes are in 3-D style.

Is there another possibility to show the enduser if a checkbox in a
datawindow is enabled or disabled?

PowerBuilder 11.5 build 3127

What can i do?

Regards,
Hannjo

I see two questions here.

1. What happened to the 3D look?
Are you using the XP visual styling? Checkboxes in XP don't look like
the ones in Win95 and it's easy to confuse the "new" look with a "flat"
look. There's an option on the project painter to disable the XP look.
("Use classic style"??)

2. Can I visibly show that a checkbox is disabled?
You might be able to use a 3-state checkbox. You'll have to write code
to make sure that clicking on it toggles full on and full off. And when
you disable it, only then do you set it to the third state. This is
simply one of many possible solutions.

Paul:
Thanks for the Scale-hint, now it works but it looks not so good.
Jason:
1. Use classic style is not an option.
2. Nice idea, but the checkbox is a part of a framework and I am afraid
about side effects.

Hannjo
