This is hopefully a simple question and answer.

We have remoteware installed on 900+ clients. I have created
a morning "health check" job that connects to each server
and then when I arrive I look at the "failed final" report
to see which sites are not talking today so we can take
action.

Well, we have a program called "blat" that is a command line
email utility and we want to be able to have a "if
connection fails, call blat" so that we can email computer
operators overnight if the healthcheck fails so they can
correct the issue.

My problem is it appears if the connection fails to
establish, it does not appear to be running the "blat"
command.

I have attached a screen shot to this post of the process I
am trying to do.

Can anybody assist in telling me how to execute a process if
a connection fails?

I am running Remoteware 4.30.3007.000 with SP2 installed.

JHAGGARD,

Is the execute event set for execution ON SERVER AFTER? It is likely you
have the EXECUTE set for ON SERVER DURING, and thus since communication
never occurs the event cannot process. Can you send a screen capture of the
actual Work Object Worklist?

Another option would be to use the EXCEPTION Worklist. Basically you put
the events in the EXCEPTION Worklist, and after ALL retries have failed, the
EXCEPTION Worklist will execute.

Thanks,
Chris

I do have the command set to "ON SERVER AFTER, attached is a
screenshot. Also, below is a text version of what the work
object is defined to do. But it is not kicking off the
execute command in the IF statement.

Any ideas?

----
Healthcheck TEST (this is a comment)
D SEND \\rwdb01srvr\TRANDATA\healthcheck.txt TO
/nodesys/healthcheck.txt
IF Previous Event True
SA EXECUTE (command to execute email program here)
End if

JHAGGARD,
Ah, the way RemoteWare processes worklist events is it will build a
MASTER Worklist for all events that will occur during the communication
session. It will first process all BEFORE events, then all DURING events,
and lastly all AFTER events, since you're IF statement was based on a DURING
, and the execute is for an AFTER, though it seems logical looking at it,
that will not work.

I am glad to hear the the EXCEPTION Worklist is satisfying your needs! If
you need any further assistant, please let us know.

Thanks,
Chris
