On the PowerBuilder 10.5 CD, a runtime version of the 9.0.2 ASA database was
made available in the support directory.
- Are EBF's or build updates available for the runtime?
. Can I use the normal (full version) EBFs?
- When we read about "Redistributable components" in the ASA runtime
documentation, what exactly are we talking about? Is there a set of
deployment files that can be used instead of the install process?
- Are more current versions of SQL Anywhere runtime available?
. If so, where?
- Is the runtime version still included with current releases of
PowerBuilder?

I think you may have asked too many questions in one post. If someone
doesn't know the answer to all your questions, they may choose not to
respond. I'm not afraid to say "I don't know". :)

Correct. The v902 EBF that you find by following the instructions in
my footer can be applied to the runtime version.

When the docs talk about "Redistributable components", they are refering
to the files that you are licensed to distribute. It is
possible to deploy the runtime engine without running the install. See
the following section of the v902 docs for more information :

ASA Programming Guide
Deploying Databases and Applications
Deploying database servers

Yes. I believe you need to talk to a sales rep to get a more recent
copy of the runtime database engine.

I believe that is true, but this question really needs to be answered
by someone who supports PB, which I do not.

The runtime edition can be updates with the MR and EBF downloads made
available for SQL Anywhere on http://downloads.sybase.com. Note that
older MR/EBFs may fall outside the default timeframe for displayed
downloads. Simply expand the timeframe to see additional downloads.
Since you using 9.0.2, it will only be EBFs that are relevant (9.0.2 is
the last MR level for SA9.x).

Please review the Read Me First: Runtime Edition documentation. It lists
what files are permitted for deployment with the runtime edition. You
can use the the Runtime Edition install or roll your own deployment
option (subject to the permitted deployment files for that edition).

Newer versions of PB will have updated versions of the Runtime edition.
Prior to 11.5, PB11 shipped with SA10. PB11.5 ships SA11.

Otherwise, you can contact sales and license a newer release of the
runtime. You may need to update the the pbodbX.ini file as it is not by
default aware of the newer SQL Anywhere 10.x and later components.

Special consideration must be made for PB Desktop as it may not support
newer versions of SQL Anywhere.

Yes. PB continues to include a licensed Runtime Edition of SQL Anywhere. F
