Been hanging out in Webforms. I created a Winforms app that
runs fine on my development machine. I copied the
appname_WinformOutput folder to a client machine and get the
Microsoft "..exe has encountered a problem and needs to
close...". Am I missing some .dlls or do I need to install
something on the client?

Thanks
Jay

The client machine definitely needs the PB runtimes, as well as the .NET
(2.0 at a minimum) framework.

The chapter in the Help file on Application Deployment would make for a good
read right about now...

Thanks, but does the client machine need more than it would
need for a WebForms application?

I've added all the dlls from the table "PowerBuilder runtime
files for .NET targets" in Chapter 1: Overview and
Configuration of .NET Targets Checklist for deployment.
The client has .NET Framework 2.0 installed

I still get the Microsoft "..exe has encountered a problem
and needs to close..."
If it was dlls, shouldn't I get a message saying that like I
used to? How do I debug this?

Did you use the PB Runtime Packager to create the .MSI file that contains
all the required DLLs, and then installs them and registers them on the end
user's workstation?

Of course it would. WebForms run in Internet Explorer, so there's no client
footprint whatsoever. WinForms are "rich" client-side applications.
