Hi,
I am trying to save a richtext datawindow to a PDF using
saveas('filename',pdf!,false). I get a valid pdf but nothing is shown
when I open it!
If I try with a grid datawindow, the PDF is correctly generated.
I don't find in the docs any limitation on saveas() for a RichText
Datawindow in a PDF file.

Any hint ?
Thanks

Philip

Hi Philip;

For the RT DW object .. have you:

1) Set the DW's export method to Distill! in the "Data Export" tab page?
2) Installed GhostScript?

Hi Chris
My DW does NOT have a DataExport Tab ! ( and in the export, I don't see
the following :
export.pdf(method=0 distill.custompostscript="0" xslfop.print="0" )
that I have on another richtext DW created on an external datasource.
Strange
BTW : a Grid DW can be saved in a PDF without problem.

Correction : the DW with external datasource is not a RichText DW.
SO the problem remains : the DW richText does not have a DataExport Tab,
and cannot generate PDF.

You are correct. I just tried this with PB 11.5.1 and it fails during
the PDF creation on the SaveAs ( ). Looks like a bug to me.

I can print to a PDF distiller print driver and have the RT DW converted
to PDF correctly this way. I would think that the Ayumi driver might work in
the this case - however, this option does involve a cost. In the mean time,
I have logged this into the PB 12 beta as I can reproduce this defect in
that release as well.

Thanks Chris

PDF implementation should be completely reviewed by Sybase.
Our need is to allow users to modify the RTF template, then merge the
template with data and print the result in one print-job (OK), and to
save all documents into ONE PDF (KO)...
We tried with RichTextEdit, RichTextDW, and we encounter problems
everytime :-(
