I would like to install Afaria 6 on my Windows 2003 server.
The client devices will use HTTPS to connect to a publicly
accessible URL i.e https://afaria.mycompany.com on my
Reverse Proxy ISA 2006 server and then the connection will
be redirected to my internal Afaria 6 server. In order to
acheive this, i need to create a certificate request file
from my Afaria 6 server (from Server configuration >
Properties > Client communications > Generate certificate
request.. ). After obtaining the digital certificate from a
CA, how to install this certificate on my ISA and Afaria
server to establish end-to-end HTTPS communication between
my clients and Afaria server?

And what is common name to use in the first dialog box of
Certificate request wizard..?

Regards,
Karthik

Kartee,

Please review the following knowledge base articles, documentation, and
software updates:

KB regarding Reverse Proxy Support =
http://frontline.sybase.com/support/resolutionDetails.aspx?c=1&KBID=3889

Document = Afaria Support of Reverse Proxy Environments -
http://frontline.sybase.com/support/fileDownload.aspx?ID=1646

KB regarding SSL =
http://frontline.sybase.com/support/resolutionDetails.aspx?c=1&KBID=1965

For Afaria 6.0 you must install Afaria 6.0 Hot Fix 6 before generating the
CSR from the Afaria Server:
The software update corrects this issue - "With client communication SSL,
Afaria's Certificate Signing Request truncated the certificate values which
generated an invalid CSR."

Thanks,
Chris
