Is there any word on when this bug is going to be fixed? All
of our corporate iPhone users are hitting this bug and it is
quite serious. When will a fix be released to the iTunes
store?

Regards,
Ali

PS. Someone else posted about background push notifications
for email on 3.0. This is something we'd be interested in
too.

We have an open case with Apple and are working to get this bug fixed ASAP.

Can some more light be shed on what's going on with this
case and is there any more information on a timeline for a
fix?

Unlike Windows or Mac OS X, where users need to consciously
upgrade their OS, iPhone users don't really have a choice as
the old OS quickly becomes unsupported (no more bugfixes) by
both Apple and App Developers and iTunes pushes users to
upgrade.

Hope in the future Sybase can hit the ground running and
test and fix bugs using the OS beta releases provided by
Apple so that these kind of "obvious" bugs are fixed before
the OS release.

Regards,
Ali
