Hi I'm trying to chage a picture included in a the datawindow using code

I'm using Next Line

tab_imagenes.tabpage_localizacion.dw_localizacion.object.p_1.FileName =
ls_filename

Where ls_filename is a filename that allready exists
But i receive this error

Error Number ==2
Error in Text== Null object reference at line 97 in retrieveend event of
object dw_sucesos of w_situaciones_especiales
codigo ==retrieveend
Line code ==97

When i retrieve data.. the image is inserted with no problem

but if i retrieve data for a specific record after i insert a record
it's get crazzy and return me that error .

Any idea ?

Hi Ignacio;

I suspect that the object that you are referencing is not in the DW
object or the DW control you are referencing contains a different DW object
that you are expecting at the time the code segment is executed. The problem
with the DOT notation is that you will error on a Null object unless you
wrap the code up in a TRY...CATCH statement. Personally, I would use the
Modify ( ) command as it errors silently.

If you are executing this in the RetrieveEnd event though - why is it
not coded as follows ...

THIS.object.p_1.FileName = ls_filename

?
