Just wanted to pass on a conference to anyone that might be in the business
of selling software. Here is a quote from their website...

http://www.businessofsoftware.org/

"Business of Software 2009 is being run by Joel Spolsky and Neil Davidson.
We want to run a conference that inspires and teaches people about the
business of software. Although the conference has a strong software focus
you don't have to be a geek to come. Last year we had product managers,
development managers, marketeers and project managers turn up, and they all
enjoyed themselves. We're trying to put together an eclectic mix of
sessions. We're inviting speakers who we have something to learn from, who
we think are cool or who we want to hear speak. We're hoping you will too.
Joel Spolsky is founder and CEO of Fog Creek Software. He is also the
creator and author of Joel on Software, arguably the most well read and
important blog about software on the internet. You can follow Joel on
Twitter at @spolsky

Neil Davidson is co-founder and joint CEO of Red Gate Software. He considers
himself a thought-follower in the business of software, hence the
conference. You can follow Neil on Twitter at @NeilDavidson"

Being somebody who is working towards getting their own software company off
the ground, I am putting this down as one of the conferences I would like to
go to this year.

If anybody else thinks they might make it to this, please let me know. It
would be great to get a group of Sybase developers, or companies that use
Sybase products, together at the conference.

Beyond this, I'll see all of you at TechWave 2009 in DC.

Jeff, at the least, I would be interested in meeting up and with you any other ISVs in DC during tech wave.
maybe have an ISV and IPA meetup or something - assuming DC has good beer

Sounds like a great idea! We should run it by John Strano and see if this
is possibly going to happen.

I've already got my airline ticket to come to TechWave.

Would be great to catch up again since you couldn't make it last year.

I'd love to participate in that meetup as well. Prior to joining Sybase, I
spent 10 years with an ISV that marketed a PB/ASA/EAS system for TV
stations/Cable networks. www.vcisolutions.com
