Hi all,

ct is testing ASE 15.0.3 CE for Solaris and Veritas FS for ASE CE.
When checking iofence support with iofenceutil, it reported that the device
is not fence capable.

[s15tps2:/sybase/ASE-15_0/bin] iofenceutil -d
/dev/vx/rdsk/cfsdg/sybsystemprocs_dev
scsi_pgr_stat_reg: ioctl failed (Inappropriate ioctl for device)
scsi_pgr_fence_capable: Error(-2) while running INQUIRY command
/dev/vx/rdsk/cfsdg/sybsystemprocs_dev is not fence capable.

From VCS engineer we heard that the VCS is running on iofence capble devices
and
he checked it with gabconfig utility for io fencing service.

root@s15tps2 # gabconfig -a

Hi,

I have more information for this.
When building a dataserver for ASE 15.0.3 CE with sybcluster,
sybcluster didn't recognize VCS correctly too.
From below message it seems that sybcluster and VCS can't communicate
correctly
