For Future (now if possible) - open source strategy

What is Sybase.com's strategy to support / contribute to open source?

Sybase makes use of open source products eg eclipse, openssl, java,
zlib, xercesc, Linux, etc but seem to give nothing back.

http://www.sybase.com/developer/opensource seems to be dead.
CodeXchange project for ASE - no new content since Jul 2008 - seems to
be dead.

Request, more open source activity - contribute as well as use.
Use sourceforge, goooglecode, etc to give projects more visibility
Release orphaned tools as open source
ribo, sybmigrate, jsql, etc
Release TDS as open source spec
Release jconnect as open source
etc

Time for Sybase.com needs to stop exploiting and start contributing.

Alberto

Agreed. Even Oracle realized the importance of Open Source and outperformed
all commercial competitors long time ago.
