I'm using ASA 11 (de) under linux.
What are the advantages and consequences of using an ODBC
interface ?

isn't a direct API (such as client library) faster ?

Thanks

Both of DBLib and ODBC are direct client interfaces for SQL Anywhere. Both
will give similar performance.

Yeah that's true, actually I did some benchmarking (I can
share) that prove similar performances. Nonetheless, ODBC
available function might look somewhat limitating to what
actually a direct deal can do ?

ESQL & ODBC are the only direct interfaces on Linux. So there is nothing
more direct or less "limiting".
