Hi all,
i have table in ms access with column "por" ( auto number ).The problem is
with DW<>MS access communication which does not return auto number column
value for the newly inserted and updated row back to DW row, so i cannot
update this row until re-retrieving all rows in DW.

regards

Milos Sula

Yes, of course.

Additional info:

SQLCA.DBParm = "PROVIDER='Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0',DATASOURCE='E:\TC

projekt-access\db.mdb',StaticBind='No',DisableBind=0,DelimitIdentifier='Yes''"

Access database format: Access2000

PB version: 10.2.1

I have also problem with creating DWs using Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0.I

select in the DW wizard table, columns the SQL looks like this:

SELECT `media_macro`.`amount`,

`media_macro`.`chemical_name`,

`media_macro`.`por`,

`media_macro`.`pormedia`,

`media_macro`.`type_group`

FROM `media_macro`

I think DW does not like the ` characters and doesn't display any columns
after returning from datasource back to DW designer. So i must create all DWs
through ODBC driver for ACCESS, but in application open script i am
connecting to the database using Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0

But in both cases ODBC or OLEDB identity column does not work.ODBC probably
does not support them.

Milos

If this happens in the compiled app, but not in the IDE, then it could be
that you've simply not deployed the PBODB100.INI file.

It also needs to have a GetIdentity='SQL statement' line in the appropriate
section for your database. Look at the [Adaptive Server Anywhere] section
to see what that looks like for that database. I don't know the Jet
database engine, but there must be some command for retrieving the
autoincrement value back from the database...

Thanks for hint

i have added:
[ACCESS_SYNTAX]
GetIdentity='Select @@identity'

and voila .. it does work with MS ODBC Access driver.
But i think PBODB file have no influence on OLEDB interface....with
'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' the identity still does not work. But i dont worry
about it, becauseODBC is now working.

regards

Milos
