Hi all !!

I was wondering if someone knows a way to export the content of a dw to a
JPG file. I know I can achieve something similar with PDF but I would like
to be independent of pre-installed adobe software.

Thanks in advance for all your input.

As always, tell us the version and build of PB that you are using, as well
as what you are trying to accomplish. Converting even an average size
datawindow/report into a graphic image is of questionable utility. Graphic
files are not intended to be scrolled, searched or viewed in the manner of a
report. In any event, PB natively supports WMF (windows metafile) and EMF
(enhanced metafile) formats.

You can use printer drivers that generate jpg as output. We use SoftCopy.
It generates a separate jpg for each page in the report.

Hi Scott !

Sorry for the lack of information.

a) I am using PB 9.

b) One of my customers wants to send (by mail) to his customers a copy of
theirs invoices (this is an one page report). Thing is that this invoice has
a bar code section included and anything different that a "printable" file
will not export this bar code. I can generate a file PDF of this one page
report, but that forces to have adobe installed.

Thanks in advance.

It does not force the installation of Adobe, but it does require some sort
of reader. There are other (and better, IMO) options for viewing PDF files.
Seems like PDF is a defacto standard for this type of thing.

Try the metafile or Terry's suggestion.

Hi Scott,

Thats right. Adobe is not mandatory. I ment what you wrote above. I don´t
want to force an installation of any kind of readers. With JPG, 99.99% of
the people who recieve this mail, can read what´s inside.

I will go to SoftCopy !!

Thanks both of you for the feedback.
