Hello,

my weekly dbcc checkstorage job is abending. Below is the
error.

server Error: 9972, Severity: 20, State: 1
An error 1105 occurred while inserting the results into the
dbcc_counters table.
server Error: 9970, Severity: 20, State: 1
server DBCC cannot update the finish time in
dbcc_operation_log table for this operation. This can be
patched by executing sp_dbcc_patch_finishtime

I have checked the sp_plan_dbccdb and got to extend the size
of dbccdb and worker processes too. Currently the worker
processes count is 12. but the dbccdb recommeded worker
processes are 51. I wanna increase them.

My concern is, Does it affects performance of production
database ? Any other impacts with this ? Thanks.

It sounds like your problem is not the worker processes -- 1105 indicated
that dbccdb is full. So you should enlarge it.
If dbccdb has plenty of space before you run checkstorage but still gets
full, it could occur when you have many corruptions. I have on some
occasions seen this when running checkstorage in a massively corrupt
database (but it will tell you the number of corruptions found before it
tries to write them to dbccdb).

HTH,

Rob V.
