Good afternoon, all!

We are trying out the MobileOffice 5.7. We need an IP
address for the server at gateway.push.apple.com to
configure a firewall rule to test the iPhone client.

Is this available anywhere?

Thanks!

Gregg

Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as providing an IP address. Apple
owns the class A address 17.* and we've seen the APNS servers respond with a
variety of addresses. The only thing we've noticed is that they've all
resolved to a 17.149.38.* subnet, but Apple could still be using addresses
outside that range.

I've been resolving all day, and have come up with a dozen addresses between
17.149.38.128 and 17.149.38.166. Apple does not document a specific range. I
discussed with IT, and I guess this is fairly common practice. They can
enter a range of addresses or just 17.149.38.*. I looked up and Apple owns
the class A address 17.*.
