Hello Team Sybase-

Is there a white paper or equivalent available outlining
the process and requirements for getting a 3rd party
application Sybase ASE 15 Certified. We are a global
financial services firm and our clients are clamoring for
certification. Thanks. NOSPAM_dkoegel@optonline.net

Hi Dan,

To the best of my knowledge (but keep in mind I'm technical, not
marketing), there is no such thing from the Sybase side. I think
that a claim from a third party that their product was Sybase
ASE 15 Certified would mean that they had tested their product
against ASE 15.0 and found it worked correctly and were willing
to support it (correct any problems found with the product
when run on the certified versions).

As a correlation, Sybase issues certifications that particular versions
of ASE are certified on specific versions of various operating systems.
The OS vendor doesn't perform that certification, we do.

However, if you can point to some example of such a 3rd-party
product certification that appears to be coming from Sybase,
let me know and I'll see if I can find out anything more.

Cheers,
-bret
