After I stalled ASE 15.0.3 on Windows, it can't start. Any idea? Thanks!

Did you build data server (using GUI or sybatch.exe) ?
Did the data server created succesfully?
At directory ($SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/init/logs) you have the
data server logs.
Did you reboot machine after building new data server?
Did the windows service of the DS started?

Hi Yaniv,

Thanks for your reply. I typed sybatch.exe in Command Prompt, but nothing
happened. It was like this:
C:\sybase>sybatch.exe

C:\sybase>

I don't remember if I built data server using GUI during install.

I have rebooted my machine after installation.

I saw couple of logs files under C:\sybase\ASE-15_0\init\logs. What should
I see under this log?

If the data server is Sybase SQLServer _xxx, no, it's not started yet and I
can't started successfully.

Thanks for helping!

Hi
sybatch.exe requires a parameter resource file.
sybatch.exe -r <res file path> <other params>
You can look at $SYBASE\$SYBASE-ASE\script ( if memory
serves)
for some samples of sybatch resource files
or just google it for some samples.

Regarding the logs, each file represent a server buildup
log.
open them(ASCII files) , see if the server build
success/failed and what is the error(s)

Good luck
Yaniv
