Apparently ASE 15.5 will be released before the end of 2009,
and Jeff Tallman even gave a talk about it at to a user group
in New Jersey this week. But I can't find any other details
about this release. Could someone clue me in about what
to expect with ASE 15.5? Thanks...

I bumped into a few CRs listed as "ARIES"

"Aries" works on the sybase search bar.

We had a presentation with Rob Vershoor a few weeks ago.

The main improvements from my POV
are in-memory databases and minimally logged DML operations, so you will
be able to build "work" or "scratch" databases that will reside entirely
in memory (no physical disk backing), and also have DML operations where
you don't care about being able to roll back changes (so much faster).

The reason you haven't seen anything is because ASE 15.5 has not yet been
released. This is currently expected to happen before the end of 2009, so
stay tuned. As for webcasts etc, you probably won't hear much about 15.5
until January/February though.

Rob V.
