M-Biz Server 6.2 b254 / M-Biz 7.0 b478

Hi all,

In what circumstances do the above logs get generated?

I can stop the M-Biz services and delete them and they'll get recreated, but
not all the time. Why? I always thought that these files get added to when
a person does an application sync of the M-Biz client or the user goes into
the M-Biz administrator.

Anyway, the problem we had was that the M-Biz kept timing out in a sync and
even running the M-Biz client on the server and performing a sync timed out.
We found that rebooting and restarting IIS / M-Biz services didn't resolve
the problem and that all other software on the server was running fine.

We then deleted these log files which had become huge and then the M-Biz
server started to sync again.

Cheers,

Shao

Shao,

These are the SOAP server debug logging files. Any time the SOAP server
is restarted and a user synchs, you will see these files recreated.

In your agsoap.conf, how are these values configured? Are these files
being placed in C:\ ?

===========================
# Debugging Log files
#SoapPref DebugSentLog "C:\Program Files\M-Business/logs/agsoap_sent.log"
#SoapPref DebugRecvLog "C:\Program Files\M-Business/logs/agsoap_recv.log"
#SoapPref DebugTestLog "C:\Program Files\M-Business/logs/agsoap_test.log"
===========================

I'm not sure why deleting the log files would cause the synch/SOAP
requests to start succeeding again, unless the logging was causing just
enough of a lag for the request to time out.

Regards,

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the reply.

I am not sure either.

Our customer has a powerful Dell setup for our mobile application, but the
M-Biz server seems slow and sluggish via the admin interface - every click
is slow. It used to be unbearably slow until we deleted those log files
(10-30 second response time for every click).

We have considered re-installing the M-Biz server application, but we are
going to migrate to v7 anyway soon and also its currently live at the
customer site so re-installation will cause problems.

We don't actually set any of the values - they are automatically set by the
installer. We install M-Biz on to D: drive, so they sit in D:\. They are
labelled as:
- RECV.log
- SENT.log
- TEST.log
not as the agsoap prefixed files you list.

However, in the agsoap.conf, the file names are as you've listed, i.e. with
the agsoap_ prefix.

Cheers,

Shao
