Hi

What is the format required when connecting to a public IP address? This
currently works for local IP's:

<add name="CSL-CONNECTION-SERVICE" connectionString="Data Source =
\\xyzserver\hqm service\Test System\HQDATAADS\hqdata.add; User ID =Wxxxxx;
Password = xxxxxx; TableType = ADT; ServerType = REMOTE"/>

Thanks

Ted

Just substitue \\xyzserver with \\ipaddress:port (\\\192.168.1.10:6262)
although you can also use the name if it resolves
\\xyzserver.domain.com:6262

The port can be left off if you want to create an ads.ini and specify
the ip/port in the ini.

Hi

Already tried that but get 7078 error? Details definitely correct as I
connect locally with same credentials.

BTW, I mentioned PUBLIC IP, i.e. internet address so this is using 3123
Internet Port UDP?

Thanks,

TED

By default the internet port is disabled / set to nothing. If you
specifically set the internet port in ADS to 3123 it should work.

Check the ADS error log for the 7078 error and see if other errors are
logged directly before the error with the same date/time/thread number.
It will most likely give you more information on why you can not connect.
