Hi,

I install the Sybase SDK 15 (as client) on my machine and download EBF 17358
to update the SDK to the latest fix. However, when I click on the
setup.exe of the EBF 17358, it shows the installshield wizard and
then an error screen shows:

"CreateProcess failed ==> The system cannot find the path specified"

I already boot the machine and the installed path of the SDK is
"C:\sybase_15".

The path settings:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>path
PATH=C:\sybase_15\DataAccess\ADONET\dll;C:\sybase_15\OCS-15_0\lib3p;C:\sybase_15
\OCS-15_0\dll;C:\sybase_15\OCS-15_0\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOW
S\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Network Monitor 3\

Do I miss anything before I apply the EBF to the SDK client?

Thanks in advance,
Raymond

So after you download the EBF you are to unzip it in some location.
Please unzip it to a location like "C:\temp".

I am guessing that the problem you are seeing is because there is
"white space" in the current path (Documents and settings) where you
are trying to run the setup command.

Unzip to c:\temp\ebf17358
cd c:\temp\ebf17358
.\setup.exe

I've had problems with special characters in the path...
C:\Program Files\ is the worst...
The installer can be limited to 8.3 naming conventions...
In your case, try c:\sybas~1 or c:\sybas~2
These are the 8.3 names of the longer folder names.
In my problem, I fixed c:\Program files\ by using c:\progra~1

Yes Cory that is a good point. I think the new installers with 15.5
will not have any lingering problems with "white space".
