Hi
I'm using PB 10.2 and 11.2 in "classic" mode, and the
following observation applies to both versions.

I have a freeform datawindow containing a nested grid
datawindow.
The freeform datawindow also has a right-aligned page
counter in the header positioned to align with the right
margin.
The grid datawindow is sized so that it fills out the page
left-to-right. In the grid header there are some
cross-column foreground labels.

When I view the populated result in design-time preview all
looks OK, also runtime preview looks OK.

BUT (here it somes) when printing to paper (I have tried
both an HP printer as well as a Canon printer and also tried
a PDF printer) the grid gets narrower, like all columns are
squezed a bit in width. The right alignment is gone, which
just looks like poor design, but the grid header labels are
apparently stuck in their "original" position, looking like
they are sliding more and more to the right across the page.

In order to isolate the observation I ended up with making a
basic application using nothing but basic powerscript. I
also tried to use the grid dw directly, i.e. not nested, but
the size changing is still there.

Has anyone any idea why this happens? And how can I fix it?

Thanks
Thomas

Hi again

In continuation of my initial posting I should add that I
have also tested the freeform dw with nested dw, where I
changed the "processing" of the nested (grid) dw from 1 to
0, i.e. making it freeform. Now that way it looks as it
should, apart from the missing gridlines of course.
So it is definitely a grid printing issue.

Thomas

Are you previewing to the same printer as the one you're sending the hard
copy to? This could be a difference in printer driver behavior...
