I wanted to know how and where you configure the iAnywhere
password for an iPhone. As per the doco there are 3 levels
(None, Medium or High). I just can't find where you set
this. Is it a per user setting that the administrator can
set, or is it something that end user has to set on the
iphone?
Any advice on this topic will be appreciated.

Hi Zlatko,

where you can select the security settings as you describe them should
now be a 4th option "custom". Select "Custom" and check if the admin
renders then more options if it is an iPhone device.
I guess this is the way it works. Haven't tested it my self I must admit.

Cheers,
Dirk

Hi,
I'm not sure where this setting is? Is it in the MObile
Office Admin on the server under the user account settings?
Or do I find it somehwere on the iPhone?
I basically want to force a password every time the
iAnywhere app is opened on the iPhone - please explain how I
can do that.

Many thanks,
Zlatko

Hi Zlatko,

to get to the configuration

1. Open the MobileOffice Admin
2. Select your iPhone device and double click. This opens the device
configuration
3. Look for "iPhone custom security" (I think)

I expect you can set the password length and the time out when the user
will need to reenter his PW.
I think it will be hard/not possible to force him to enter his password
every time he opens the iAnywhere app. You will have to fake it by
reducing the timer.

Background: Usability suffers when the user re-opens his app a few
seconds after he has just closed it and than has to type in his password
again. The iPhone is all about usability, right :-)

Oh, I do not have access to a iMO server with iPhones installed, so I
can only hint about where the location is, sorry.

Cheers,
Dirk

Here are the steps guys:

1. Open MO admin
2. select device - double-click
3. choose iPhone custom security - timeout set to 0

- it will require password every time u close and reopen app
- don't need to tap on lock button upper right corner

tested on iPhone 4 with client app 5.7.2010.1216

hope that helps ...
