Hi,
i've updatet my server to 5.7.2009.1206 and my iPhone-Client
to 5.7.2009.1218.
Since the update my mails are not pushing anymore. There is
no more popup "new mail". Every time i have to synchronize
by hand.

Are there any changes touching firewall-setings or something
like that?

Best Regards,
Sven

Hi Sven,

hmm, I do not expect there to be any changes the the ports. The option
to use the RelayServer for the AppleNotfication is still under
development I think. Have you checked the release notes of the update?

I could imagine that by accident we got an issue with an old DLL again.
I recall an issue where a certain server dll was renamed/replaced and
the update did not remove the old dll (or some thing along those lines).
Please check the Support Knowledgebase or the newsgroup threads if this
could match your issue as this issue touched the iPhone notifications.

Hi Dirk,

thanks a lot for your answer.

I've made a hard reset and installed the client again. Now
it works.
Think there must be went something wrong while updating.

Sincerly,
Sven

Hi,
We have the same problem with a new server setup at a
costumers place.

All of the affected ports in the setup are allowed in the
firewall. But i can't locate the problem.
Any ideas and suggestions are welcome, and if some can
explain how the APNS is communicating from Apple USA to the
Mobile Office server and to the client.

Thanks in advance
Lasse,

Hi guys,

can you please check the "APNSProvider" log in the MobileOffice Admin
Trace viewer? Let me know what you find. You may need to change the
trace level to debug. I expect to find some error messages there that
give us a clue what to look for.

If you do not know what I mean, please check the MobileOffice
documentation. F1 does the trick for me.

You can also check the FAQ section in the support area. There are a lot
of FAQ's related to the iPhone.
http://frontline.sybase.com / you need a valid support contract to
access the support site.

Hi Lasse,

it seems the MobileOffice Server can not access the Apple Push
notification server. Please check the server documentation and make sure
the firewall allows the required outbound connection to the Apple
notification servers.

Also worth looking into is the support knowledge base. The colleagues
have put together a lot of information about the Apple notification
service and how to handle it.

Cheers,

Do you have a tool that test the connection settings, also
through a proxy server, so that i can prove it is network
troubles.

The network partner tells me the firewall rules and network
routing are OK.

Kind regards

Hi,

I found the solution to my problem.

It was the network guys who didn't allowed external DNS
requests from the DNS server I was told to use.

This was after they removed the limitation of all Internet
access through their proxy server.

So until they provide me with another DNS server, i added
changes to the hostfile locally on the Mobile Office server.

Conclusion to this must be the only things required for APNS
to work with Mobile Office, are outgoing TCP traffic to
gateway.push.apple.com at port 2195 and TCP traffic to
feedback.push.apple.com at port 2196

Just as it says in the documentation ;-)

I'm having the same problem. I was running an older version
of iAnywhere on an iPhone 3G, got a new iPhone 4, and
installed the latest version of iAnywhere (5.7.2010.0714),
but I'm not receiving push notifications either. I don't
see iAnywhere listed under the Notifications page for
settings either. What should I try?

Hi,

can you try a re-register your user? This needs to be done on iMO Admin.

If this does not help, chech with the other users if they are facing the
same issue. If they do, it is a server side problem.

Cheers,
Dirk

I am the user and don't have access to the admin side.

Do you think I could just delete the application, get a new
activation code, and reinstall? Should that fix it?
