Hello,

We will be settling for open source data integration
software.
We would need to have a thorough documentation and a forum
able to help us on problems if we have any with our
solution.

Forums are always good to get solutions to problems. But
need to be active in order to help. Do you know of any
active forums for open source software?

Thanks for your advice.

Hi Brownbear,

I recommend to make this part of your software selection process.
Support cost and effort are naturally part of the Total Cost of
Ownership investigation that should be done before investing into any
bigger piece of Software.

Every solution has different communication media and communities. You
will not find one forum that suites all your needs. Hunting down
information is part of running open source. :-)

Cheers,
Dirk

Hi,

I think you are right about having a thorough documentation
for your open source software. There are a few solutions
that have an active community able to help on your problems.

I would go look at different communities such as the Talend
Talendforge one. You would need to go on several
communities, visit them, in order to choose the one you
want.

Thanks.
