I have a customer with 10 computers connecting on internal LAN and 4
computers, each in a diffrent location, connecting via the internet to an
ADS 8.1 server running XP Pro. They have two internet lines and use a
Linksys Dual Wan router.

This system has been running since 2003 and with version 8.1 since 2006.

We now have a problem with the 4 Computers that access via the internet will
losse the connection for 15 to 30 seconds and sometimes a minut, this
happens with no pattern. The customer had the cable company change the
modems, I changed the Dual WAN router. We can still browse the internet from
the server location when the 4 computers losse the connection to ADS.

Anyone had similar problem or a solution, this has been going on for three
weeks.

Thanks,
Kim

Hi Kim,

Can you clarify what you mean by "losing the connection for 15 seconds to a
minute"? Are you saying, it stops working but then starts working again
without reconnecting? Or does the client get some kind of 6000 error and
then you have to reconnect but are not able to reconnect until maybe a
minute has passed?

Hi Mark,

We found the problem. Someone in the office had installed a wireless router
in there own office, so he could use his laptop wireless, the problem was
the router had the same IP address as the internet router.

Thanks,
Kim
