I am bcping data out from 15.03 to Windows 2008 file. I've
been getting error Msg 2403, Level 10, State 0:
WARNING! Some character(s) could not be converted into
client's character set. Unconverted bytes were changed.....

I reran using the -J - with blank - option and it copied ok.
Does anyone know if this option should be used this way ,
since it's ignoring the char conversion to file -

Hello,

I would not use it that way:
C:\temp>isql -Usa -P -S nstack-sun:5502
1> select @@client_csname
2> go

------------------------------
iso_1

(1 row affected)
1> quit

C:\temp>isql -Usa -P -S nstack-sun:5502 -J
1> select @@client_csname
2> go

------------------------------
NULL

(1 row affected)

You should specify a valid character set with the -J parameter.

If your server has utf8 or some other multibyte data you should bcp with
-J utf8.

Type "sp_helpsort" to see what the default character set is on your server.

Regards,
Neal
