I just downloaded the Appeon 6.2 trial and I'm having problem trying to run
any of the examples or my own applications. It all seems to be a database
connection issue. When I try to test the Connection Caches I get the
following message...

"Testing Connection Cache appeonsample failed: Could not load file or
assembly 'iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere, Version=11.0.1.22672, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=f222fc4333e0d400' or one of its dependencies. The located
assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.
(Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)"

The error message being returned when I try to the SQL Anywhere 11 Appeon
Demo databases or my own is as follows...

"Errors occurred in the Appeon communication layer. Possible causes: 1.
The network is unstable or disconnected. 2. Appeon Server does not work.
3. The pb coding style is undefined."

I also get...

"Failed to find the transaction 'sqlca' in the current session. Please
check whether you have connected the database corresponding to the
transaction".

I can connect to the databases just fin inside PB, it's when deploying to
Appeon that I have problems. I'm using PB 11.5 Build 4675 on Windows 7. I
know this version of Appeon isn't supported on Windows 7, but it seems like
people are running it without problem. I am running the Appeon server off
of localhost. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Shenn,

Please go to the
http://search.sybase.com/kbx/changerequests?bug_id=592421 to
get detail information to solve your ASA issue.

To solve the issue below,
"Errors occurred in the Appeon communication layer.
Possible causes: 1. The network is unstable or
disconnected. 2. Appeon Server does not work. 3. The
pb coding style is undefined."
"Failed to find the transaction 'sqlca' in the current
session. Please check whether you have connected the
database corresponding to the transaction".

You can according to the steps below:
1. Setup the connection cache in the AEM.
2. Deploy your application.
3. Setting up transaction object to connection cache
mapping. You can go to the Appeon Help | Appeon Server
Configuration Guide | Database Connection Setup | Setting up
transaction object to connection cache mapping to get detail
information.

Appeon 6.2 does not officially support Windows 7 since the
OS was still on beta version when Appeon 6.2 launched to
market. According to the feedback of some Appeon users, they
can install Appeon Server to and access the Web application
from Window 7. So I think you can try it and I think you can
follow the instruction on Windows 2008 when installing
Appeon Server.

FYI, Windows 7 will be officially supported in Appeon 6.5.

Regards,
Steven
