Hi everybody.

We are having performance problems with our ASE Server from 1 week. We always
are restarting the server to resolve temporarily but the next day ocurred the
same.

We have the following configuration:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2, Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 2.
- Adaptive Server Enterprise/12.5.2/EBF 12060 ESD#2/P/NT (IX86)/OS
4.0/ase1252/1844/32-bit/OPT/Thu Aug 12 00:13:38 2004.

I'm attaching part of ASE 12.5.2. Server LOG.

Hi Tonny

From your error messages I can conclude that you have some OS-related
problems. Specifically, error 823 usually means that you have disk
problems and it looks like errors messages 694 (database corruptions)
are just logical result of previous errors 823. Do you see anything
interesting in Windows Event Viewer? I think that you should first
verify that all OS-related problems are solved, then fix all database
corruptions (verify that dbcc checkdb and dbcc checkalloc return no
error messages) and only then concentrate on performance problems. All
three messages that you have posted are not normal, we should not see
any of them under normal conditions.
