We have been using Manage Anywhere for may years and now have found a
need to put up a relay server. The relay server seems to be
communicating well with the primary command server. However, our test
client says "Log on failed: server connection problem". All we did on
the remote computer was to point the client to the relay server instead
of the primary command server. We are seeing communication between the
remote computer and the relay command server.

It sounds like the problem may be with the client. Can any one provide
some guidance as what steps we need to take next?

Thanks.

Ben,

Manage Anywhere has never been developed for or tested with the Relay Server. I do not expect Manage
Anywhere will work with the Relay Server.

Manage Anywhere at this time does not support the Relay Server, and I doubt support will be added.

Josh,

Thanks for getting back to me. I think that we are taking about 2
different relay servers. The relay server I am referring to is the one
that is part of Manage Anywhere and is documented in the Administration
Guide on page 61 as a relay command server that can be positioned on a
server closer to the remote client.

The other option would be a secondary command server and at this point
I'm not sure which would be the better option.

Thanks.

Yes, yes we are. I was referring to the Sybase Relay Server. Not sure how many people on this forum
can answer questions regarding the Manage Anywhere relay server. To get a quicker response my
recommendation is to open a technical support case for this issue by calling 1-800-8Sybase.

Josh,

Thanks. I thought I might have to open a ticket. Just thought I'd check
the boards first.

Thanks again.
